The ladies of Crossroads City Derby put away their skates, protective gear and duct tape, dusted off their nicest get-up, took a long-awaited break on a cushiony movie-theatre seat and enjoyed a night out with friends and family to celebrate “Girls’ Movie Night” on September 22, 2011. CCD joined with regional movie theatre leader, Allen Theatres to treat attendees to the Sara Jessica Parker film “I Don’t Know How She Does It.” Before the movie, representatives from local spas and salons lined the Cineport 10 lobby to share information on available services and Guzman Sport Karate and Kickboxing provided demonstrations. Several attendees won highly sought after door prizes. Special events committee members Hearno Evil and Choni Chaser coordinated the fundraising event. CCD President, Reguladies Captain and Sucia extraordinaire Puncher Villa was the top movie ticket seller. Tickets were $10 and partial proceeds went to Crossroads City Derby. Unwilling to end the night with great company too early, attendees made their way across the parking lot to De La Vega’s Pecan Grill and Brewery for drink specials following the movie.
