Well CCD did it again! We held our 3rd annual Rummage sale this year. As we all woke up early, each volunteering to bring donated coffee, goodies, etc we set up on the corner of Espina and Missouri and laid out all our “Treasures” to be picked through and purchased. This is an annual event we’ve successfully held for three years so far in which we split our proceeds with CYFD (Children, Youth, Family Department) to help them purchase car seats for members of the community. Thanks to all those who showed up and showed their support! We’ll see you next year!

Sugar, spice, and everything nice…if that’s what little girls are made of the fabulous stylists at CCD made sure to add some fire, fierceness, and let out the fabulous at Derby Doll for a Day. On May 6th the fine folks of CCD took over Shear Talent Salon and made some little girls very happy! There was hairspray flying, nail polish dripping, and eye shadow for days as little ones had the opportunity to let their fierce out and take a picture with their favorite derby girl. CCD Superstars Hearno Evil and Rx Bex were behind the lenses showing their extra special photography skills.
This event showcased braids, pigtails, fluorescent nails, and we even had a little Billy Idol look alike who got in on the action! Fully geared up with an arm tattoo and mohawk, he represented the manly side of CCD in a picture with our very own Coach Bombshell and Gonads O’Brian. This event always reminds us how awesome our community is! Thank you to those of you who came out to support us and special thanks to Shear Talent Salon for allowing us the use of their amazing space. We can’t wait to do it again. Derby Doll for a Day always brings out the fierce and the fun.
